Research

Use of color in advertising has always been very interesting for me - hence, why i choose it for my research speech. Most people do not know that in my ever so often changing list of majors that marketing was my first choice. I love interacting with people, so marketing was always at the top of my list. I planned on going into marketing and dealing with environmental issues since that is where a lot of marketing jobs are in right now. I a lot of people use that phrase "selling ice to an Eskimo" with me which says a lot. Things that I find interesting when talking about color in advertising is that our eyes are drawn to the colors red and yellow. Car dealers are the first thing that come to mind when I think of an example to go with this topic. For example, ever drive down independence? Ever notice that on all the cars almost all of the numbers are written in yellow? Another example would be McDonald's, not only do they use red and yellow but they use the signature arches.

I think I will do well with this research topic because I did a lot with marketing. Not only did I want to major in it, but I was president of my DECCA, chapter at my high school, so I was in charge of a lot of the projects. I am looking forward to informing the class more on colors and advertising. With every color draws a certain meaning which draws to certain topics which ultimately turns into something you purchase.
